Daniel Abatangelo

Chief Executive Officer

Daniel brings over 15 years of distinguished law enforcement experience combined with a proven military background, making him uniquely qualified to lead and deliver professional security services. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he honorably served in two combat zones—Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq).

During his service, Daniel successfully commanded a squad of Marines in the Guard Force Unit, responsible for securing Listening Posts, Forward Observation Posts, and Forward Operating Bases. He participated in more than one hundred Quick Reaction Force missions and earned multiple awards and commendations for exceptional leadership under enemy fire.

Following his honorable discharge, Daniel joined the Prince George’s County Police Department in 2007. Rising to the rank of Lieutenant, he commanded a patrol shift and also served as an investigator for five years. Throughout his career, Daniel has gained extensive experience providing security in diverse environments, including stadiums, places of worship, apartment complexes, hotels, restaurants, large-scale events, and retail establishments.

Daniel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Homeland Security. His unique blend of military discipline, law enforcement expertise, and leadership under pressure directly translates into the high standards of vigilance, professionalism, and accountability that define Soterra Protective Services.

Marvin Alvarez

Chief Operations Officer

Marvin is an accomplished leader with a proven track record of building and growing successful businesses from the ground up. With extensive experience in leadership and team development, Marvin has cultivated high-performing teams that consistently delivered strong results and enhanced overall productivity.

Managing and overseeing millions of dollars in inventory, Marvin has developed a sharp eye for detail, accountability, and operational excellence—skills that directly translate to the precision and vigilance required in the security industry.

In addition to business expertise, Marvin has completed courses in Criminal Justice and Crime Prevention, strengthening their understanding of safety, risk management, and proactive protection strategies. This unique blend of business acumen and security-focused education allows Marvin to lead with both strategic vision and operational discipline.

Evelyn Abatangelo

Director Of Strategic Initiatives

Evelyn serves as the Director Of Strategic Initiatives, bringing a strong academic background and extensive professional experience to the leadership team. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology along with a double major in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Maryland.

Evelyn spent five years as a Case Manager Specialist with the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services, where she successfully guided high-risk youth through the rehabilitation process. She identified key factors contributing to delinquent behavior—such as individual, family, peer, and school influences—and implemented targeted intervention strategies including counseling, behavior programs, interpersonal skills training, and community-based support. Through her mentorship and dedication, many of these youth overcame significant challenges and went on to become productive members of society.

Her professional journey also includes a successful career in education. Evelyn worked as a Spanish teacher at the middle school level and was quickly promoted to Department Chair of the World Languages Department. In this role, she developed and implemented policies that promoted inclusiveness, strengthened relationships, and enhanced problem-solving across her team. Her leadership earned her multiple awards and recognition for excellence in education and team development.

Evelyn’s unique combination of criminal justice expertise, operational leadership, and educational experience allows her to bring a well-rounded, people-focused perspective to every project. Her proven ability to lead, mentor, and implement effective programs is a valuable asset in advancing our mission and ensuring the highest standard of service delivery.

Stephen Roberts

Director of Operations

As Director of Operations for Soterra Protective Services, Stephen applies his background in logistics, administration, and customer service to ensure seamless day-to-day operations and dependable client support.

His professional experience with organizations such as XPO Logistics and United Parcel Service equipped him with expertise in inventory control, vendor management, and workflow efficiency—all critical to managing security resources and operational readiness.

Stephen is skilled in communication, team coordination, and problem-solving, making him a reliable leader in supporting Soterra’s security personnel and maintaining operational excellence.
